| Magnets and
magnetism
Magnets are mysterious objects that
have been fascinating people for many, many years. However, it
is not some black magic or mystery. Magnets and magnetism are
very important in our lives. Compasses utilize the earths
magnetic forces to point us north, south, west, and east.
Magnets are practical and there is a science behind their function.
This science is not very involved and can be done as part of a
primary project from scienceproject.com. The following is an
actual example from the website.
Introduction:
Magnets have always been
exciting and in the past they have been associated with magic and
witch craft. Still many believe that magnets have some healing power
for pain and certain disease.
In this project, you will make your own magnet. There are several
ways to make a magnet and one will be explained in this project.
Material and instructions:
This is an easy project
and can be done in a few hours. You will be making a non-magnetic
object that has the capabilities of being a magnet into a magnet.
You will need a magnet, a nail, a paper clip, a needle, and a silver
coin.
